Costal Oregon Campgrounds

No matter how many times a person visits the Oregon Coast, they always swear that they will come back again and again.  The Oregon Coast has a tremendous amount of natural scenery - more than can be visited in a mere 2 week camping vacation.   Natural bridges carved into mammoth rocks just off the beach, hundreds of miles of beaches to stroll on, rocky cliffs that have sunk many ships, three hundred foot high sand dunes, the list goes on and on.  Then there's the wildlife.  Owls, deer, elk, raccoons, wild turkeys, bears and a lot more.  And don't forget the ocean life.  Whales to starfish, the Oregon Coast has a lot of everything.

Tent and RV camping on the Oregon Coast can't be beat.  Visitors can travel barely 30 minutes and find yet another great campground.  There are an abundance of Oregon State Parks, county parks, national forest campgrounds and hundreds of privately owned tent and RV camping spots.  Many of the Oregon State Park campgrounds are situated either on or within walking distance of the ocean.

The costal Oregon region is bordered by the Pacific Ocean, the California and Washington State boarders, and the Oregon costal mountain range.  Summertime temperatures often reach 80° F while the winter months are usually rainy and cold.  Some of the best months to tent camp or RV camp on the Oregon Coast are September and October.  During those months the campgrounds are much less crowded and the weather is still very good.

Visitor's attractions include a wildlife park, several picturesque fishing villages, a number of old time arcades (the kind with bumper cars), interpretative centers, whale watching, deep sea fishing, a shipwreck or two, cheese factory tours, several wildlife refuges, and, of course, terrific seafood restaurants.

The Oregon Coast region offers the tent camper and RV camper almost anything a camper could wish for.  Enjoy it while you can - you'll discover that no length of vacation is long enough.  You'll swear that you'll be back - and you will!

The Free Guide To Northwest Camping is a free guide to both privately owned and publicly owned (state, county and federal government) campgrounds.  The editors of the Free Guide To Northwest Camping do not specifically endorse any of the campgrounds listed in this site.  Not every available campground is covered in this free camping guide.  Many of the privately owned and operated campgrounds do not allow tent camping.  If in doubt, call the campground first.

The authors of the Free Guide To Northwest Camping do not accept payment from any agency or private campground owners.  In this way we ensure that every description in this free guide is unbiased.  Covered are campgrounds owned and operated by state and federal agencies, private RV campgrounds, RV parks, family campgrounds, and camping sites for both tents and all types of RV campers.  While free campgrounds are listed and described, pay per night campgrounds far outnumber the free sites.

Please use the email link above to notify the editors of the Free Guide To Northwest Camping of any errors or omissions.  New campgrounds are added weekly.
