Free Guide to Northwest Camping
Campground Description: Celilo (pronounced see-lie-lo) Park is owned and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Although not widely known, Celilo Park does offer free camping for RV camping and tent camping with a 14 day stay limit. The park offers flush toilets but no showers. No RV camping hook-ups are available. The mature trees offer plenty of shade on summer days and picnickers are often found at the park. On windy days Celilo Park is typically crowded with wind surfers. Be aware that the railroad tracks 65 feet to the south are very active, seemingly most often at night. A paved public boat ramp is available at the west end of Celilo Park. Convenience store shopping, fast food and gas is available in Biggs, 3 miles east on I-84. Full service shopping and restaurants are available in The Dalles, 12 miles west on I-84. Open year round. Reservations are not possible.
